Are you ready to write a better story for yourself in 2020?

We are entering a new year and a new season. It’s time to set things in motion for yourself by charting a course of clear direction for the year.

Many people like to set a theme for the year. Something they continuously come back to that will re-enforce the experiences and relationships they want to build.

I believe we all have a purpose. I also believe it is impossible to fully live out that purpose without having good health.

At different times and seasons of our lives we get stuck. Stuck physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually. Feeling stuck is inevitable as we weather the storms of life. I’m just like you, I get stuck too. It’s not so much the getting stuck but in how long we stay stuck that makes all the difference for the remainder of our lives.

“Life is not a matter of holding good cards, but of playing a poor hand well.” Robert Louis Stevenson

When stressful times happen as a result of a job change, a betrayal, grief, disappointment, deep loss, they often affect our health, our relationships and our attitude about life. Maybe you recognize when times have been tough and you neglected yourself for far too long. You see the effects in your body, your skin, and how you’ve pulled back from life.

The truth is that life has a way of crushing our spirit. Wearing us down so we stop looking ahead, unable to see the possibilities that abound. It can make us weary, we settle for less than, we play it safe, keep our heads down, and go through the motions. Living life with a crushed spirit robs us of our joy and our ability to dream. It separates us from the grander vision of our lives.

So, let me ask you a question…Are you tired of living this way? Are you ready to write a better story for yourself in 2020?

You may be sick and tired of your real-life TV drama and are eager to change the channel. Are you ready to play the next episode? You don’t have to stay stuck in the current one.

Let me say that again… You don’t have to stay stuck in your current episode.

If you want your 2020 to be better than your 2019 then it is crucial to not repeat it. If your health is holding you back choose something different for yourself. Make another story for this year. Choose another path.

The grass isn’t greener on the other side. The grass is greener where there is more water and fertilizer. It’s where you put your attention.

If you have never really plugged into a health relationship with yourself this may be the right time. The right time to have a doctor come alongside you and encourage you to feel balanced and alive again.

Once you make the decision to commit to yourself everything changes.

Every athlete has a coach…Every musician has a teacher…What about your health? Optimal health requires a mentor. This year, consider inviting a health mentor into your life.

I like to say that I improve the gardens that people live in because where we live is our garden. It’s the garden of our bodies, a wild expanse of amazing and rare beauty. I strive to make life worth living for the people around me. Teaching, coaching, mentoring through health education that cultivates a well-balanced, thriving body garden.

Feeling defeated, not sure where to turn? Let’s create a garden that’s good for you to live in so that your spirit can be revitalized and you can feel peace and get purpose back in your life.

Remember, no matter what, there is hope for you. You can heal and there are answers for you. All you need to do is take the next step by inviting a health mentor into your life today.
