Linda is a 72 yo female who has been a practice member of mine for the last 15 years. Over that time we have worked together to overcome skin issues, auto-immune concerns, digestive upset, and weight gain.

She had always been sensitive to pharmaceutical medications and made an effort to prioritize her health wherever she could. Linda had been a single, independent, working woman for the entire time I have known her. She told me one time that she didn’t plan on retiring anytime soon. She loved her work and her company appreciated her and she knew she still could make a difference at what she did.  

In mid-March she got sick, really sick, high fever, headaches, digestive upset, and pressure on her chest. She developed heart palpitations for a few days and then they went away. She went to the ER and she tested positive for SARS-Cov2. They told her to go home, rest and recover. She worked hard to not panic, to stay hydrated, and returned home to “nurse herself”. She employed the natural treatments she and I had used consistently over the years, ate homemade broths, drank green juices, took her anti-viral herbs, slept, did wet socks, and waited it out. It was a long 2 weeks. After 14 days, she felt like things were lifting and she started to recover. Now, four weeks later she is feeling better with some residual shortness of breath, and fatigue. She just returned to “work” this week.

She was able to fight the virus and win.

Some of the most important things to note here are that although Linda may be a bit overweight, she is not diabetic, she does not have lung or kidney issues or heart disease. She does not take any prescription medications other than natural desiccated thyroid. These were some of the things she and I worked hard on in the beginning of our relationship.

She made her health a priority in her life and her immune function is stronger for it.

If you are reading this and you think it is too late for you because of age and other risk factors, think again. At some point we will all get SARS-Cov2, the day to make a change is today. It starts with your thinking and then your actions follow.

Bottom Line

The teachings of Naturopathic medicine are incredibly useful at this time.

I teach people how to control the controllable. The controllable(s) are sleep, diet, exercise, supplements, and stress management.

When you prioritize your own health, you automatically begin to build up your body, and strengthen your constitution.

Doing those things builds a strong foundation and you will handle this virus better by adapting to the stress of it. SARS-Cov2 is an environmental and immunological stress.
