Gratitude & What We Learned in 2020

2020 What a Year! Looking back on a year filled with ups and downs. I’ve boiled it down to three key Insights.
Insights from 2020

1)     Family and Health Come First – The focus on health has been front and center all year. The take away is that health is personal. If you feel like a sitting duck, watching and waiting for a crisis to hit, it’s time to shift your mindset. Control what you can. Daily choices and behaviors have a massive impact on your health. Recognize the power that you have and activate it!

This year brought our location into focus. Our family is divided between west coast and east coast with the three of us residing somewhere in the middle. We initiated a no man left behind strategy. Should one of us be struggling with loneliness, inactivity, or negative thinking we rally to help them see the sun again.

 2)     Wellness and Self-Care Matters – If you were to ask what the single most important thing to maintain balance is I would say Self-Care. Loving self-care allows for a healthy mind, good decision making, and a sense of wellbeing independent of world events. Consistent sleep, supplements, exercise, meal-planning, hydration and headspace.

Consistent, Repetitive, Sustainable Self-Care.

 3)     Challenges Illuminate Character – Has this year rocked your headspace? Turned everything on its side? For all of us it has broken patterns we were accustomed to and forced us to find new ways of living.

Change is uncomfortable but there are opportunities in obstacles.

Personal growth comes through adversity. Adversity challenges us to reconfigure pieces of our lives. You can either give up or live up. Attitude is everything. With every change of events you have a choice find a workaround or dwell on what’s wrong and become stuck.

In our office, we call it “being solution based”.

Focus on becoming solution based because as Marie Forleo says, “Everything is figure-out-able.”

The more you practice finding the solution the easier it will be the next time when things change again.

I know this year has been hard. There has been a lot of loss on many levels.

Take this time as the year winds down to reflect on your responses to the stressors this year. Use your hindsight to get some clarity. It’s never too late to press re-start. Today is a new day, you get to define it.

Wishing You Well,
